In an era of rapid technological advancement, many companies face a critical challenge: Managing and modernizing their Cobol-based systems.
Despite its age, Cobol remains a backbone in business-critical systems across banking, finance, logistics, and the public sector. This makes it essential for companies to ensure they have the right expertise to maintain and further develop these systems.
We have a limited number of spots in the program, and you can already pre-book one or more consultants that you can hire and later recruit through our try & hire offer.
If you have employees in your team that you want to reskill and build COBOL expertise, it is entirely possible to send employees from your internal organization.
Our Cobol training is tailored to provide your employees with both practical experience and deep technical understanding. We focus on equipping your team with the skills needed to secure business-critical systems, while also offering solutions for modernization and integration with future technologies.
By investing in our training, your company will not only enhance its technical capabilities but also future-proof its systems for the digital age.
ISPF navigation:
The course begins with focused training
on how to navigate the mainframe
environment with ISPF. Participants will
learn the most important commands
and functions needed to be effective
users of the system.
Subsystem and Program Knowledge:
Participants will acquire knowledge of
the most common subsystems and
programs used in mainframe
development.
COBOL Programming and JCL:
A significant part of the course focuses
on teaching participants to write
COBOL code that is executable in the
mainframe environment. Additionally,
they will develop the ability to create
JCL (Job Control Language) to execute
their COBOL programs.
DB2 and SQL:
Participants will gain a deeper
understanding of DB2 databases,
including how tables are structured.
They will learn to efficiently search for
information in DB2 tables and discover
best practices for communicating with
DB2 from their COBOL programs. This
is an important skill for managing and
analyzing data in a mainframe
environment.
The course is aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to become skilled developers in a mainframe environment. Through both theoretical and practical learning, participants will be able to use ISPF, feel comfortable with key subsystems and programs. They will learn to use JCL to execute their COBOL code, they will also learn to efficiently interact with DB2 databases.
